Educators-Keep Your Students Engaged

Why is this important to me as an educator?

Ideally, this website is meant to teach and encourage educators to do the same to their students, however, any and everyone is welcome.  As an educator, some people believe your role is to get involved in the student's social and home life, however, this is often taken to an extreme and is not the role of an educator.  The goal of an educator should be to encourage the student to value learning so that success, love, respect, good behavior will follow.

Contrary to popular belief, the most successful way to help a child from a troubled home learn and become successful, is not love and special treatment.  It is encouragement.  It is not tough love.  It is excitement.  It is investing your time into the student's education rather than focusing on what is wrong with the child.  When the child finally understands the material and no longer feels helpless in one aspect of his or her life, they are more likely to begin to explore new avenues and gaining the confidence it takes to leave a childhood mess behind and create a new life for him self.

It is simple logical process, however, in order to give validity to the argument above, it must be noted that this is merely an opinion and/or philosophy produced from past experiences, interviews and research.
